Zika Virus

Zika Virus can potentially cause neurologic/brain defects in babies (microcephaly) and neurologic abnormalities (Guillain-Barre) in infected mothers. This has prompted serious precautions to be taken in an effort to avoid these complications.

These precautions include recommendations from the CDC regarding travel restrictions to areas of the world where this virus is more prevalent, especially in those individuals who are pregnant or intend to conceive.
