Shari Olson, Ph.D., HCLD

Shari Olson, Ph.D., HCLD (ABB) has been the embryologist at the Rocky Mountain Center for Reproductive Medicine (RMCRM) for over twenty years.

Dr Olson was born and raised in Michigan, but moved west shortly after receiving her B.S. in Environmental Studies from Michigan State University.

She later pursued graduate studies at Colorado State University, earning a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in reproductive physiology. While at CSU, Dr Olson performed research in in vitro maturation of bovine oocytes, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and the effects of oxygen and antioxidants on bovine embryo culture under renowned embryologist and animal scientist Dr George Seidel.

In addition, Shari has been certified as a High Complexity Lab Director by the American Board of Bioanalysts, which requires a high standard of academic achievement, clinical laboratory experience, and successful completion of written examinations.

Dr Olson has over 15 years experience in clinical embryology and in vitro fertilization, including advanced assisted reproductive techniques such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), which is the direct injection of a single sperm into the egg, assisted hatching of embryos prior to transfer, and embryo freezing.

She is responsible for all aspects of the IVF and embryology laboratory at RMCRM, including pre IVF semen analysis and preparation of sperm for IVF and ICSI injections.

Our Services

We provide all services for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility including an outstanding IVF and donor egg program.

We also offer intrauterine insemination (IUI), medical treatment, and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
